Edinburgh
is the second largest city ( after Glasgow ) in Scotland and lies in the SE
of Scotland on the south shore of the Firth of Forth. Due to its rugged
setting and extensive Medieval and Georgian architecture it
is one of the most dramatic cities in Europe.
Edinburgh
is the seat of the Scottish Parliament and was one of the major centres
of the Enlightenment gaining the nickname "Athens of the
North". The Old Town and New Town districts of Edinburgh are
listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Edinburgh Fringe, the Edinburgh International Festival, the
Edinburgh Military Tattoo and the Edinburgh International Film Festival.

city is one of Europe's major tourist destinations and is the
second most visited tourist destination in the United Kingdom after London.
