House
Pollok House in Pollok Country Park is the ancestral home of the Maxwell family. The house was designed by William Adam and built in 1752. It is considered to be one of the most elegant family homes in Glasgow. It was gifted to the City of Glasgow in 1966 by Mrs Anne Maxwell Macdonald, the Maxwell family having owned the estate for almost 700 years. It is now managed by the National Trust for Scotland and is open to the public. |
