The Eiger ( Ogre ) is the easternmost peak of the ridge

extending to the Monch

and across the Jungfraujoch to the Jungfrau

The Nordwand ( north wall ) is the spectacular north ( more

precisely the north-west ) face of the Eiger ( the Eigerwand ).

It is one of the six great north faces of the Alps towering over

1,800 metres ( 5,900 ft ) above the floor of the Grindelwald

Valley.
