Ben Cruachan is the highest point in Argyll and Bute.

It is the high point of a ring of mountains known as the Cruachan Horseshoe.

 The horseshoe includes Stob Diamh ( a Munro )
and Beinn a' Bhuiridh ( a Corbett )

Ben Cruachan gives its name to a pumped-storage hydroelectric power station

located  inside the mountain.
