Khan
Tengri ( " Lord of the Spirits " / " Lord of the Sky " or " Ruler of Skies " / " Ruler Tengri ") ( Also known as Khan Tangiri Shyngy, Kan-Too Chokusu, Pik Khan-Tengry, Hantengri Feng. ) It is located on the Kyrgyzstan - Kazakhstan border in the Tian Shan mountain range Khan Tengri is the second-highest mountain in the Tian Shan - it is surpassed by Jengish Chokusu ( 7439 m ) a few miles to the south. Khan Tengri is the highest point in Kazakhstan and the third-highest peak in Kyrgyzstan, after Jengish Chokusu ( Pik Pobedy ) and Independence Peak ( 7,134 m ) in the Pamirs . Its geological elevation is 6,995 meters but its glacial cap rises to 7,010 metres. It is therefore considered a 7000-metre peak and is included in the Soviet Snow Leopard mountaineering award . |
