![]() The Elephant Khraal at Ayutthaya
The elephant kraal of Ayutthaya is the only one left in Thailand. It is located to the north of the Ayutthaya island. This kraal dates back to the 16th century when it was moved to Ayutthaya. That was when elephants were being caught and trained for work and military use. However, the last roundup of wild elephants in Thailand happened in 1903. The elephant kraal is preserved for show to visitors. |
