Grangemouth is midway between Glasgow and Edinburgh,
3 miles ( 4.8km ) to the east of 
Falkirk, 5 miles ( 8.0km ) to the west of Bo'ness
 and 13 miles ( 20.9 km ) south-east of Stirling

Originally a bustling port with trade through the Forth and Clyde Canal
 nowadays Grangemouth is focused on the 
petrochemical industry
in particular the large
Ineos oil refineryone of the largest in Europe

Grangemouth Port is one of the main ports in the UK with the largest container terminal in Scotland
