Dundas Vale Teachers' Centre on New City Road in Cowcaddens. Built in 1837, the Normal School for the Training of Teachers ( later named Dundas Vale College ) was designed by David Hamilton. It was the first institution in Britain specifically for the professional training of teachers. |

Allan Glen was a wright who became a wealthy property owner who left £20,000 in his will in 1850 to make "provision for giving gratuitously a good practical education to about fifty boys, sons of tradesmen or persons in the industrial classes in Glasgow". In 1912 the school became a Science High School under the Glasgow School Board. Children who passed the entrance exam, benefittd from the high standard of teaching at the school. It ceased to be a selective school in 1973 and closed in 1989. |

 Adelphi Terrace Public School The Adelphi was designed by Glasgow
architect Thomas Lennox Watson,
and opened in 1894 it was previously home to the Interior Design Annexe of the Glasgow College of Building and Printing. The former school building was sold in 2018 and converted into office space. |
