Arkle ( 2582ft, 787m - a Corbett ) from Loch Stack. Arkle is in Sutherland in the
far north-west corner of the Scottish Highlands.
Like its sister Foinaven, the mountain is made up of glistening white quartzite. |

Foinaven ( 2989ft, 911m - a Corbett ) and Arkle Foinaven is not a
difficult ascent but it is about five miles from the nearest road.
All ascents involve a long and strenuous hike over rough terrain with much peat bog and many lochans. |
