Merzouga is a small village in southeastern Morocco some ten hours driving from Marrakesh and about 20km from the border with Algeria. The village is famous for the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. Erg Chebbi is a 50km long and 5km wide set of sand dunes that reach up to 350m. The large dunes ( ergs ) are formed by wind-blown sand. |
