the River Rhine
The Lorelei ( Loreley ) is a rock face soaring some 120 metres above the eastern bank of the Rhine. It marks the narrowest part of the Rhine between Switzerland and the North Sea. Many boat accidents have occured at the Lorelei due to the very strong current and rocks beneath the water. |
