 The
Agora at the Nea Pafos archaeological
site.
The Agora dates from the middle of the 2nd century A.D. It formed a square court measuring 95 x 95 m with colonnaded porticos. The agora was a central spot in ancient Greek city-states. The literal meaning of the word is "gathering place" or "assembly". The agora was the centre of athletic, artistic, spiritual and political life of a city. |

The 2nd century Odeon is built of well-hewn, limestone blocks. It is still used for musical and theatrical performances. |
